Study Guidelines – Planning Your current Examinations.
Examinations could be easy or difficult, depending in route you want for the examinations. As the word goes, if you don’t plan, you want to fail.
Planning is an important stage in everyone’s lives. You want for an outing and choose the places to go. You want your timetable daily and you want to play one hour of Halo 3 tonight from 10pm to 11pm. You want to sleep at 11pm, or your mother plans for you really to sleep at 11pm. Planning is undeniably important in order that you may make sure you have covered everything.
How then, do you go about planning your examinations and what qualities do you need to succeed in planning for the examinations?
The first question many individuals ask is how early should I prepare myself for the examinations? It depends on the consistency of yourself and the number of subjects that you have to take. For my university examinations waec runs, I normally plan 3 – 4 weeks of studying time, and that is if I have already been consistently following tutorials and lectures. If you’re an individual who hasn’t been consistent with your work, you almost certainly need a couple weeks more to brush up on your foundation. You have to also be prepared to stick to your plan, else everything will fail.
When I plan, I print out the a regular calender with the examination dates written on it. Then I start with counting the number of days I have from now till the examinations, and I divide my time equally. If you’re weaker in another subject, you could have to sacrifice time faraway from studying your very best subject and dedicating it to your weaker ones.
If you have been consistently following up on your lessons, your foundations should be good enough. Thus you can spend your time practicing on past year papers in order that you can get a sense of how good you are. Do make sure to time yourself sometimes so that you discover how fast you can complete a particular paper. Past year papers from the ten year series, in addition to school papers from other schools are recommended.
Do remember that it is more straightforward to work with harder questions, than to work with easy ones and think you started using it right, only to be complacent and flunk the examination.
Another tip that everyone should know is to study for a particular examination when you’re going for it the next day. As an example, if tomorrow’s your chemistry paper, study chemistry and not physics. If you have two papers for a passing fancy day, do be sure you have the ability to complete your entire studies punctually!
